Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour receives IMF delegation

H. H. Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour, met with a delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which is visiting the Kingdom of Bahrain, headed by Ms. Asmaa El Ganaini, in the presence of a number of officials from the ministry. During the meeting, they reviewed Bahrain's experience in launching qualitative initiatives to maintain the stability and growth of the labour market in line with local needs and global changes, and the results achieved in this regard by increasing employment rates and maintaining unemployment within its safe limits. The visiting delegation was also briefed on programs to support women, promote the principles of competitiveness and equality in the labour market, discuss advanced legislation related to expatriate workers in accordance with international labor standards, and the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain in combating all forms of discrimination and addressing any practices in the field of trafficking in persons. This visit comes within the framework of the existing cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the International Monetary Fund and other specialised international organisations to exchange and evaluate experiences and work to develop them to serve the development goals and national priorities in the Kingdom.
