Humaidan heads Bahrain's delegation to the Arab Labor Conference in Cairo

His Excellency Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, headed the delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain at the opening of the 49th session of the Arab Labor Conference, which will be held in the Arab Republic of Egypt, from 22 to 29 May 2023 under the patronage of His Excellency the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mr. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, on Monday. The conference will be attended by a number of labour ministers in the Arab countries, heads of employers' organisations and representatives of trade unions and labour agencies, as well as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Arab Republic of Egypt H.E. Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal. The Bahraini delegation to the conference, along with the Ministry of Labour, includes the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, headed by Mr. Sameer Abdulla Nass. The delegation is joined by representatives of the Bahrain Free Labour Unions Federation (Al Hurr), headed by Mr. Yaqoob Yousef Mohammed, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Federation, and representatives of the General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions, headed by Mr. Hassan Abdulla Al Halwachi, Deputy Secretary-General of the General Federation. The conference will address important items, including the report of the Director-General of the Arab Labor Organization, entitled "Social dialogue between present challenges and future prospects". It also includes a discussion on "The Future of Social Security in the Arab Region" and a discussion on "Technical Vocational & Educational Training (TVET) Policies in Light of Modern Technological Developments". In a statement on this occasion, the Minister of Labour stressed that the participation of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the conference comes within the framework of the Kingdom's constant keenness to promote joint Arab action and contribute to the formulation of general policies of the Arab Labor Organization in developing labour market systems and exchanging experiences and expertise among member states in the field of job creation and human resources development. Whilst keeping in mind the reasons and motives, as well as the importance of the integration and employment of Arab youth that contribute to the stability and development of Arab societies. In the same context, the minister praised the conference's interest in developing the tripartite social dialogue between the production parties and its repercussions on improving work environments in the Arab countries. He stressed that the Kingdom of Bahrain has made great strides in providing the elements of a decent work environment that stimulates production, growth and creation of more job opportunities.
