Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Kingdom of Bahrain is celebrating International Workers' Day on the first of May by holding two separate ceremonies to celebrate the occasion. The General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions will hold its celebration on May 1, 2023, and the Bahrain Free Labour Unions Federation (Al Hurr), will organize its celebration on April 30, 2023. The King delegated H.E. Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour, to attend the aforementioned ceremonies and salute a group of workers who were selected by the General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions, as well as the Bahrain Free Labour Unions Federation (Al Hurr), in recognition of their excellence, giving and dedication in performing their work in various productive sectors. In a statement on this occasion, H.E. Minister of Labour Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan stressed that the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for this annual occasion comes in honour of workers in various development tracks and in appreciation of the values of work and production. HM the King also pays special attention to the hardworking workforce as they are the real wealth needed for the development and prosperity of Bahrain. Humaidan pointed out that the Kingdom of Bahrain has made great strides in providing support and protection to workers and preserving their rights within advanced national legislation in line with international labour standards. The Kingdom of Bahrain also applies several laws that contribute to promoting a safe work environment that reduces the risks of occupational accidents and diseases to ensure the safety of workers, as well as applying best practices aimed at sustaining the stability and growth of the labour market through the continuous encouragement of tripartite social dialogue between the production parties. In turn, this has made Bahrain one of the most competitive countries in the field of attracting entrepreneurs with its attractive work environment. In the same context, the Minister pointed to the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to continue to promote and preserve labour gains, based on the great appreciation enjoyed by workers by all official and non-official bodies in the country as they are the cornerstone of building and developing nations. At the end of his statement, H.E. the Minister of Labour congratulated all workers in Bahrain on the occasion of International Workers' Day, stressing the government's appreciation for the workforce in various productive sectors and its continuous contributions to the comprehensive development process.
