Labour Minister praises the Cabinet's announcement of the "From It (Minha) to the Top" initiative

His Excellency Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour, praised the announcement by the Council of Ministers, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the launch of the "From It (Minha) to the Top" initiative to support the career development of Bahrainis holding higher degrees, which allows the citizens of the country to obtain quality jobs that suit their qualifications. Accordingly, the Minister stressed that this initiative comes in light of the government's interest in enhancing career development opportunities that contribute to raising the standard of living of citizens working in the private sector, as it is the main engine of the national economy. This initiative also corresponds to a proposal submitted by the House of Representatives. Humaidan pointed out that this initiative will contribute to enhancing the opportunities offered by institutions and companies operating in the private sector to attract more national competencies who are equipped with professional skills and academic certificates. Moreover, this initiative will be a guarantor to raise the productivity levels of institutions and companies, noting in this context the efforts made by the Labour Fund "Tamkeen" to implement this initiative and other programs implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour to intensify the integration of national competencies in the labour market and provide them with the necessary support for rehabilitation and development in various work and production sites. He also indicated that the ministry is engaging all its capabilities to achieve the desired goals of this initiative within the framework of joint cooperation to develop the national workforce known for its professional ambition to reach advanced leadership positions in all productive sectors. On this occasion, His Excellency the Minister of Labour called on private sector establishments to take advantage of this initiative in order to develop the job performance of their employees, promote them and benefit from their wage support for a period of two years by at least 20%. He stressed that the Ministry of Labour pays increasing attention to the career advancement of Bahrainis working in the private sector, which is represented in providing employees with new academic qualifications and intensifying specialized training to enhance their personal and professional skills and abilities in line with the requirements and developments of the continuous labour market and the creation of jobs in non-traditional fields.
